Technology that recognizes multiple languages may be used to improve online search technologies and is a step towards Web 3.0.
Cortex Intelligence is developing a technology that allows a computer program to not only learn from the texts it reads, but also to
improve its own reading ability as it comes in contact with more texts.
The text interpretation technology could not just lead the way to a more intelligent [web] search but to what many call the semantic
web, the third phase of the online world - Web 3.0. Reaching this stage is, by the way, one of the objectives of the founder of the
web, Tim Berners Lee.
In Cortex's case the technology was conceived so that the basic system may be used in any language. From that the company has
already developed applications in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Furthermore, the program is capable of becoming more
intelligent as it analyses more data: "We don't have a team of people inserting information manually. Our technology is able
to acquire new knowledge from reading texts".
